patient who came down with this disease. >> reporter: credit bruce with the emery university treated the first ebola patient who were brought to the united states. >> i would say if there was some concern it was minimal. >> reporter: infectious disease experts meeting here in philadelphia are sharing different experiences and insights on ebola. >> we have learn they have a lot of metabolic abnormalities, they've electrolyte abnormalities, they have fluid abnormality. >> reporter: those medical issues are easier to treat here then in west africa where the virus is spreading. experts hearsay cases in this country have been contained so far but there is concern about howie bowl a patient in dallas was initially handle. he was sent home on his first visit to the hospital when he had symptoms and would have been contagious. >> i would be very surprised if any other facility in the united states missed a patient who might potentially have ebola disease. >> you think that was a wake up call. >> a very strong wake up call. >> reporter: cdc has issued a

detailed checklist to hospitals, on how to respond, to potential ebola cases. hospitals we check with in and around philadelphia area say staff has been alerted and containment equipment is ready for any potential cases. so far nothing, no ebola has been reported in our area. >> all right. >> a lot of hard work being done out there on the front lines with this, stephanie, thanks very much. developing right now a montgomery county mother is accused of providing her daughter with drugs. patricia davenport, seen right here, and megan rodolph are charged with drug possession and child endangerment. lower southford police say pair traveled to philadelphia to purchase drugs with davenport's children age eight and 15 in the car. police say davenport inject her 15 year-old daughter and her daughter's 16 year-old boyfriend with her win. we will have a full report on "eyewitness news" at 6:00. a fire fighter is injured battling a house fire in philadelphia's tacony neighborhood. chopper three over the 4600 block of princeton avenue this

afternoon. fire commissioner's office tells "eyewitness news" that a fire fighter was injured in a fall, no word this afternoon on his condition and the cause of that fire, remains under investigation. well, pretty scary ride to school for couple dozen children their bus lost control and crashed into some parked cars, six kids were injured in that crash, that happened this morning at intersection of lott and hoff street in the bustleton section of northeast philadelphia. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry is live at the scene with more on what happened, syma? >> reporter: chris, police are still trying to figure out how a school bus filled with kids lost control at this intersection, crashing into cars that were park right here and landed on that lawn only feet away from a house. >> it sounded like a really bad explosion. >> reporter: school bus driver loses control as he was pulling up in front of the ann frank little schoolhouse. this happened a little before 8:30 on lott avenue near hoff

street. bus flew through the the intersection into four park cars sending one on to this lawn. >> my heart was beating, fast. >> reporter: nine year-old andrew and his sister seven year-old grace were sitting four rows behind the bus driver. >> i saw us hit the three cars and then all i saw was us hit the last car with the glass shattered. >> reporter: there were 26 students on the bus, at the the time, many parents were walking to school with their children. >> we're fortunate there were no additional injuries. >> thank god nobody was sitting in their cars. >> reporter: six children on the bus were taken to frankford torresdale hospital with minor injuries. andrew and grace's parents took them to the hospital for precautionary measures. chris says that the crash won't stop his children from taking the bus. >> probably one of the most safees means of transportation for them to get to school and they have a better shot of trying with me every day to get in an accident. >> reporter: police interviewed the bus driver and witnesses as they determined what caused this crash.

>> whatever happened, happened that is why they call it an accident. >> reporter: police say it is still too early to determine exactly what caused this crash but preliminary investigation shows operator error may have played a role. something may have fallen and gotten stuck under the brake pedal preventing the bus driver from stopping. we are live from bustle will ton, syma chowdhry for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> same, thank you. four people including a child are rushed to the hospital after this school bus accident. chopper three over the scene this morning on island avenue and linberg boulevard in southwest philadelphia we're told one of those injuries was serious and the cause of the crash is now under investigation. police are searching for some suspects who slashed tires and broke into cars in west philadelphia. those vandals struck on south street and 4600 block of locust street. three cars were broken into, 11 vehicles had their tires slash. police spent the the day looking for evidence. >> they have fingers prints that they can pull off of it,

and find out whoever it was and, you know, also the house right here where my carries park there is two cameras. hopefully they will be able to tell us something. >> police believe those suspect hit sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. passenger claims that she was kick off of a jet blue flight from philadelphia to boston. she says, it is because she tweeted what another passenger had to say about the pilot. here's todd quinones. >> reporter: at 2:00 a.m. on her son's birthday mom lisa carter knight sits alone after being kicked off her flight. >> jet blue has a lot of explaining to do. >> reporter: ordeal began after knight started tweeting these pictures tuesday night with her play by play account of her delayed flight. one tweet said flight 760 grounded due to unrulely pilot. false accusations by pilot that his sobriety was questioned bypass eveningers. by that point boston bound plane had been delayed for several hours, due to a mechanical issue, knight says she and her passengers were

frustrated as they began boarding the plane another passenger tried making a joke, that the pilot apparently misunderstood. >> a passenger says wow, it has been a long wait i hope bar is fully stock. pilot came out and said that is it, everybody backup the jet way i have just been accused of being intoxicated. >> reporter: jet blue indicates as a precautionary measure the pilot was given and passed a sobriety test. passengers started boarding the plane again but this time without knight. >> i was told that i, pilot was not comfortable with me getting on his flight. jet blue denied me serve us on any flight back to boston. >> reporter: knight also complained to airline staff and asked for pilot's name n a statement today jet blue denied that she was kick off because of what she tweeted saying in part, we will remove a customer if they are disruptive and crew evaluates there is a risk ofes lacing which could lead to an unsafe environment. knight who was here visiting her mom, who was battling breast cancer, was refunded

leaving visible bruises. if convicted, he faces up to two years in prison. adrian peterson was in court as nfl commissioner roger goodell was discussing domestic violence with team owners in new york. the amendedded personal conduct policy is at the top of the agenda of the nfl's fall meeting. goodell, of course, has been under fire for his handling of the ray rice incident this discussion included a new video on domestic violence by former player, joe herman, that all nfl employees will be required to watch. >> think about the role you have to raise up a generation of men, that are going to have the clarity, have the moral courage, to call out other men. >> that video is part of a new nfl education program about domestic violence, sexuality assault and child abuse. philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who stole a tablet from a grocery store. take a look at this surveillance video. the victim left his tablet, valued at $500 on a counter

inside the quad loop grocery store on g street in kensington. just a few moments later a man was captured in the video concealing tan let in his back area and then left the store. a suspect robs, a td bank in hatboro while wearing a halloween mask. this happened at 256 york road just before 10:30 this morning. suspect pulled out a gun and demanded money. after getting cash he fled in the dark blue older model buick with a stolen pennsylvania tag. police believe the same suspect robbed the same bank, in july. and good afternoon, just 5:14. i will go outside to one of our cameras that is catching wind of a road closure torresdale and princeton avenue due to a pretty serious house fire in northeast philadelphia your alternate to get around that area is to take cottman avenue. you can see crews on the scene trying to get that all out of the way for clean up. but it will set you back quite

they have done a nice job of warming temperatures up. allentown 72. same as yesterday. philadelphia up to 75 today. atlantic city temperature so far 74 degrees. the right now we will cool down, philadelphia 73. sixty-two in the poconos. seventy in allentown. you can see a couple 73's through millville and also atlantic city. during overnight skies will be clear and the breezes conditions will give way to more calm conditions for your thursday. temperatures still around 70 and fair weather high pressure settles in the the south. then we will notch our next frontal boundary from the west, stationary front will create problems in the weekend to the north we have temperatures in the 60's, to the south we have the 70's and 80's and this will be the dividing line creating lift in the atmosphere and a a focus mechanism for showers, or we're talking about some showers late on friday, and then into saturday morning. so if you have anything scheduled saturday morning it could be a little ify.

i'm jessica dean with the day's top stories, first responders transport a deputy sheriff who may have a possible second case of ebola in texas. officials say michael, entered the apartment where thomas eric duncan stayed after a duncan was admitted to the hospital. duncan died from ebola this morning. six children injured after a school bus crash in northeast philadelphia. police say the driver lost control, slamming into four parked cars, and investigators now say operator error could have played a role. police are searching for suspect who slashed tires on 11 cars and broke into three cars in west philadelphia.

"eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao has more. >> reporter: lesson in free speech for philadelphia school students not in school but in front of it wednesday morning. a protest in the way only students at the creative and performing arts school could do it. >> for past few years they have cut our budgets and they have cut funding, and nurses, and health teachers, and the line really stops at our teachers. >> reporter: strong message from capa students in south philadelphia, they didn't go to school today, they were on strike to support their teachers who just two days earlier were taken by surprise when school reform commission suddenly ended their labor contract and imposed changes to the health care benefit. >> it is wrong what they did. it was shady. they have given teachers in warning.

>> reporter: starting in december members of the philadelphia federation of teachers will to have pay in their health care premiums. it will save about 50 million-dollar a year, pft called the move disrespectful and one that equals a pay cut. >> they cannot strike so we are striking for for them. >> we need education and teachers. teachers need their health care and things they need to stay in the school and stay safe. >> reporter: protests like this ran until noon. while pft says it does plan on challenging the the decision in court union officials say unlike these students, teachers do in the plan on striking. reporting from south philadelphia, jane carabao, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". to queens new york where a box truck crashed in the bagel shop today injuring four people. the truck went almost entirely inside of bagels for you, this morning. fire officials say that three adults and a child were hurt there, and the cause of that crash is under investigation. out to california now and an investigation is underway there in the cause of deadly air tanker crash. the pilot was battling a fire

"eyewitness news" at love park where the taxi work's lines of pennsylvania staged a rally and motorcade. they are upset override sharing you services like uber and lift saying they are not regulated or inspect by the the philadelphia parking authority. taxi drivers also say that the ride sharing services have saturated the market, lowering their income. well, breaking news right now, chopper three is live over atlantic city. these are casino workers who are blocking a major entrance to the city. this is missouri an arctic avenues. these are members of local 54, they are protesting propose health benefit cuts for union
